Our Commitment

Linx Grow Supply is committed to providing customers, visitors, employees, and other members of the public with access to our goods, services, information, and facilities in a manner that respects the dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity of people with disabilities.

We are committed to identifying, preventing, and removing accessibility barriers where reasonably possible and to meeting applicable requirements under:

  • the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA);
  • the applicable Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR); and
  • the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we will review our practices as our business, technology, facilities, and legal obligations evolve.

1. Scope

This Accessibility Policy applies to Linx Grow Supply’s provision of goods, services, information, communications, and customer service, including where applicable:

  • our website;
  • online shopping;
  • customer support;
  • local pickup;
  • telephone and email communications;
  • product information;
  • order assistance;
  • returns or complaint handling; and
  • other customer interactions.

It also addresses accessibility practices relating to employees where applicable.

2. Accessibility Principles

Our approach to accessibility is guided by the principles of:

Dignity

People with disabilities should receive service in a way that respects their dignity and self-respect.

Independence

Where reasonably possible, people with disabilities should be able to access our goods and services independently.

Integration

Services should generally be provided in an integrated manner unless an alternative measure is necessary to enable access.

Equal Opportunity

People with disabilities should have opportunities to obtain, use, and benefit from our goods and services that are reasonably equivalent to those available to others.

3. Accessible Customer Service

Linx Grow Supply is committed to serving customers with disabilities.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that our customer-service practices take disability-related needs into account.

Customers who encounter an accessibility barrier are encouraged to contact us so that we can work with them to identify an appropriate method of service.

4. Communication

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take their disability-related needs into account.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include communicating through:

  • email;
  • telephone;
  • text-based communication;
  • written instructions;
  • simplified explanations;
  • accessible electronic documents;
  • large print;
  • reading information aloud; or
  • another communication method agreed with the customer.

If you require a different communication method, please let us know.

We will work with you to determine a reasonable and suitable communication approach.

5. Accessible Formats & Communication Supports

Upon request, we will provide or arrange for accessible formats and communication supports for information made available to the public where required by applicable accessibility law.

We will consult with the person making the request to determine the suitability of the requested format or support.

Accessible formats may include, depending on the circumstances:

  • accessible electronic text;
  • large print;
  • plain-language explanation;
  • reading written material aloud; or
  • another appropriate format.

Accessible information will be provided in a timely manner.

Where applicable, we will not charge more for an accessible format than we charge for the same information in its standard format.

If information cannot reasonably or technically be converted to a requested accessible format, we will explain why and, where appropriate, provide a summary or other reasonable alternative.

6. Assistive Devices

People with disabilities may use their own assistive devices when accessing Linx Grow Supply goods or services, subject to reasonable safety requirements.

Assistive devices may include:

  • wheelchairs;
  • walkers;
  • mobility aids;
  • communication devices;
  • hearing devices;
  • screen readers; and
  • other disability-related equipment.

Where an assistive device creates a legitimate safety concern or cannot be accommodated in a particular circumstance, we will make reasonable efforts to identify another way to provide the customer with access to our goods or services.

7. Service Animals

People with disabilities accompanied by a service animal are welcome in areas of Linx Grow Supply premises that are open to the public where service animals are legally permitted.

Customers are responsible for the care and control of their service animal.

If a service animal is legally excluded from a particular area, we will make reasonable efforts to provide another method for the customer to access our goods or services.

Where the role of the animal is not readily apparent, we may request documentation only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

8. Support Persons

A person with a disability may be accompanied by a support person where required to help with:

  • communication;
  • mobility;
  • personal care;
  • medical needs; or
  • access to goods or services.

We will make reasonable efforts to ensure that customers who require a support person can access our goods and services together.

Linx Grow Supply does not charge an admission fee merely because a customer is accompanied by a support person.

If a situation ever requires us to impose a fee on a support person, the fee will be communicated in advance where required.

In situations involving confidential customer information, we may ask the customer for permission before discussing private information in front of the support person.

9. Local Pickup Accessibility

Where Linx Grow Supply offers local pickup, customers who require disability-related assistance are encouraged to tell us when arranging pickup.

Depending on the circumstances, reasonable accommodations may include:

  • providing clearer pickup instructions;
  • using an alternative communication method;
  • allowing additional time;
  • arranging a practical meeting location;
  • assisting with the handoff of an order; or
  • coordinating with a support person.

Accommodation arrangements are subject to legitimate safety requirements and the physical limitations of the pickup environment.

Please contact us before arrival if you require an accessibility accommodation so that we can make appropriate arrangements where reasonably possible.

10. Website Accessibility

Linx Grow Supply recognizes that digital accessibility is an important part of providing inclusive customer service.

We aim to identify and reduce barriers that may affect customers using:

  • screen readers;
  • keyboard navigation;
  • magnification tools;
  • voice-control technology; or
  • other assistive technologies.

As our website develops, we will make reasonable efforts to incorporate recognized accessibility practices into areas such as:

  • navigation;
  • headings;
  • links;
  • forms;
  • product information;
  • image descriptions;
  • text readability;
  • colour contrast;
  • keyboard access;
  • error identification; and
  • checkout functionality.

Where Linx Grow Supply becomes subject to specific website-accessibility requirements under applicable Ontario accessibility legislation, we will take steps to meet those requirements.

If you experience difficulty using our website, please contact us.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide the information or service through another accessible method.

11. Product Information

Customers may request assistance accessing product information, including information relating to:

  • product identity;
  • fertilizer analysis;
  • package size;
  • directions;
  • warnings;
  • application rates; and
  • general product information.

Where reasonably possible and legally appropriate, we will work with the customer to provide the information in a format or communication method that takes their disability-related needs into account.

Accessibility assistance does not replace mandatory product labels, safety information, or regulatory instructions.

12. Emergency & Safety Information

If Linx Grow Supply provides publicly available emergency procedures, plans, or public-safety information, we will provide that information in an accessible format or with appropriate communication support upon request where required by law.

Safety requirements apply equally to customers with and without disabilities, but we will seek reasonable accessible methods of meeting those requirements.

13. Temporary Disruptions

If a temporary disruption affects a facility, service, or feature that customers with disabilities commonly rely on to access our goods or services, we will provide reasonable notice where required and practicable.

The notice may include:

  • the reason for the disruption;
  • its expected duration;
  • the affected service or facility; and
  • available alternatives, where any exist.

Depending on the circumstances, notice may be provided through:

  • our website;
  • email;
  • signage;
  • customer-service communication;
  • social media; or
  • another reasonable method.

Unexpected disruptions may prevent advance notice, but we will provide information as soon as reasonably practicable.

14. Feedback on Accessibility

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our goods, services, website, communications, and customer-service practices.

Feedback may include:

  • accessibility barriers encountered;
  • suggestions for improvement;
  • accommodation requests; or
  • concerns about the way accessibility was handled.

We will review accessibility feedback and respond where appropriate.

Personal information submitted through the accessibility feedback process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Customer-Service Training

Where required by applicable accessibility law, Linx Grow Supply will provide accessibility training to:

  • employees;
  • volunteers;
  • persons who participate in developing our policies; and
  • other persons who provide goods, services, or facilities on our behalf where applicable.

Training may include:

  • the purposes of applicable accessibility legislation;
  • customer-service accessibility requirements;
  • how to interact and communicate with people with different types of disabilities;
  • how to interact with people using assistive devices;
  • how to interact with customers accompanied by service animals or support persons;
  • what to do when a person is having difficulty accessing our goods or services; and
  • Linx Grow Supply’s accessibility policies and procedures.

Training will be provided as appropriate to a person’s duties and updated when material policy changes require additional training.

16. Employment Accessibility

Where Linx Grow Supply has employees and applicable employment accessibility requirements apply, we are committed to supporting employees with disabilities throughout the employment relationship.

This may include, where required:

  • accessible recruitment practices;
  • notifying applicants about accommodation availability;
  • consulting on accommodation during recruitment;
  • providing accessible workplace information;
  • providing communication supports;
  • individualized workplace emergency-response information;
  • accommodation planning;
  • return-to-work processes; and
  • considering accessibility in performance management, career development, or redeployment.

Accommodation will be provided in accordance with applicable accessibility and human-rights obligations.

17. Recruitment

Where applicable, Linx Grow Supply will notify employees and members of the public about the availability of accommodation during recruitment.

If an applicant selected to participate in an assessment or selection process requests accommodation, we will consult with the applicant to identify a suitable accommodation based on their disability-related needs.

Successful applicants will be informed of applicable accommodation policies where required.

18. Procurement & New Technology

Where reasonably practicable, accessibility will be considered when Linx Grow Supply:

  • selects new website technology;
  • acquires customer-service systems;
  • designs customer forms;
  • changes checkout systems;
  • selects communication tools; or
  • purchases customer-facing equipment.

The extent of this consideration will depend on operational requirements and applicable accessibility obligations.

19. Self-Service Kiosks

If Linx Grow Supply introduces self-service kiosks or similar customer-facing electronic terminals in the future, we will consider accessibility features and applicable legal requirements when designing, obtaining, or implementing them.

20. Accessibility Barriers

Accessibility barriers may include:

  • physical barriers;
  • technological barriers;
  • communication barriers;
  • information barriers;
  • policy or procedural barriers; and
  • attitudinal barriers.

We encourage customers and employees to bring identified barriers to our attention so that they can be evaluated and addressed appropriately.

21. Accommodation & Safety

Accessibility accommodations will be considered individually.

Where a requested accommodation creates a genuine health or safety concern, we will consider whether another reasonable method can provide comparable access while addressing the safety concern.

Safety will not be used as a reason to deny accessibility without considering reasonable alternatives.

22. Privacy & Accommodation

Customers and employees requesting accommodation are not expected to disclose more disability-related personal information than reasonably necessary to identify and provide an appropriate accommodation.

Disability-related information will be handled with appropriate confidentiality and in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.

23. Accessibility Documentation

Where applicable law requires Linx Grow Supply to maintain or provide written accessibility policies, plans, training records, or other documents, we will maintain those documents as required.

Upon request, public accessibility documents will be provided in an accessible format or with communication support where required.

24. Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

If Linx Grow Supply becomes subject to a legal requirement to establish a formal multi-year accessibility plan, we will:

  • establish and maintain the required plan;
  • identify strategies for preventing and removing accessibility barriers;
  • post the plan publicly where required;
  • review and update it within the required time period; and
  • provide it in an accessible format upon request.

25. Compliance Reporting

If Linx Grow Supply becomes subject to accessibility compliance-reporting requirements based on employee count or other applicable criteria, we will complete required reports within the applicable deadlines.

26. No Retaliation

Linx Grow Supply will not knowingly penalize a customer for:

  • requesting an accessibility accommodation;
  • using an assistive device;
  • being accompanied by a service animal or support person;
  • requesting an accessible format; or
  • providing accessibility feedback.

27. Review of This Policy

We will review this Accessibility Policy periodically and when appropriate due to:

  • changes in our business;
  • changes to our website;
  • changes to physical customer-service arrangements;
  • changes in employee count;
  • accessibility feedback; or
  • changes in applicable law.

Policies that create or contribute to accessibility barriers will be reviewed and modified where reasonably necessary and legally required.
