01 / PLANT NUTRITION

Your first feed, made simple.

Start with the product label. The right rate depends on the fertilizer, plant, and growing method.

Read

Find the instructions for your plant and application method. Check the amount, dilution, and interval between feeds.

Measure

Measure the product and water separately using the units on the label. Keep a dedicated measuring tool with your growing supplies.

Apply

Follow the mixing and application directions. A product intended for soil application should not automatically be used as a leaf spray.

Record

Note the date, product, and amount. Observe the plant before the next scheduled feed instead of adding extra fertilizer.

02 / GET SET UP

Choose the task in front of you.

Prepare a container

Choose a container with drainage holes and enough room for the plant.
Use a growing mix intended for containers; check whether fertilizer is already included.
Plant at the recommended depth, water gently, and let excess water drain.

Start seeds indoors

Use clean seed trays, drainage holes, and a seed-starting mix.
Follow the seed packet for sowing depth, temperature, and timing.
Keep the mix moist without leaving it waterlogged. Provide suitable light as seedlings emerge.
Label each variety and record the sowing date.
