Monopotassium phosphate (MKP), also called potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂PO₄), is a crystalline 0-52-34 fertilizer for feeding programmes that need targeted phosphorus and potassium.

Why use MKP?
- Concentrated phosphorus + potassium: Provides two major plant nutrients in one water-soluble fertilizer.

When to use it
Use MKP when your crop and existing nutrient mix call for additional phosphorus and potassium. It can be used at different growth stages, including root establishment, flowering and fruit development, when those nutrients are needed.
Base the timing on your crop, growing conditions, water quality and current feed. Adding more phosphorus or potassium does not guarantee better flowering or yield.
Suitable uses
MKP can be incorporated into feeding programmes for gardens, container plants, vegetables, flowers and greenhouse crops, as well as hydroponic and fertigation systems. Use it when the crop and existing nutrient mix call for additional phosphorus and potassium.
MKP is not a complete fertilizer. It does not supply nitrogen, calcium, magnesium or a complete range of micronutrients. Combine it with other nutrients as required, taking your water quality and current feed into account.

Phosphate and potash are expressed in fertilizer-label units, not as percentages of elemental phosphorus and potassium.
Mixing and compatibility
Measure accurately by weight and dissolve completely in water before application. Keep MKP separate from calcium- or magnesium-containing fertilizers in concentrated stock solutions. Confirm compatibility before combining fertilizers in your feeding programme.
For root feeding, dissolve 5 g in 4 L of water and apply around the root zone every 7–14 days when additional phosphorus and potassium are needed. Account for your existing feed. Foliar spraying requires separate, crop-specific directions; do not use the root-feeding rate as a universal spray recipe.

Keep the package tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from moisture. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

It identifies 0% nitrogen, 52% available phosphate expressed as P₂O₅, and 34% soluble potash expressed as K₂O. These are fertilizer-label units, not percentages of elemental phosphorus and potassium.
Is MKP a complete fertilizer?
No. MKP supplies phosphorus and potassium. It does not supply nitrogen, calcium, magnesium or a complete set of micronutrients. Account for those nutrients separately in your feeding programme.
Can I use MKP in hydroponics?
MKP can supply phosphorus and potassium in a properly balanced hydroponic nutrient solution. The amount depends on your crop, source water and other nutrients; it should not be used as a complete feed on its own.
How much MKP should I use?
Root feeding: Dissolve 5 g in 4 L of water (1.25 g/L). Apply around the root zone every 7–14 days when your plants need additional phosphorus and potassium. Measure by weight and account for other fertilizers in your programme.
Foliar spraying: Use separate directions matched to the crop, leaf maturity and product. A single spray rate is not suitable for every plant. Contact us with your crop before choosing a foliar rate, and test the intended spray on a small area first.
Can I mix MKP with calcium nitrate?
Keep MKP and calcium nitrate in separate concentrated stock solutions. Combining concentrated phosphate and calcium can form precipitates. Check the full recipe and compatibility before combining diluted nutrient feeds.
Will MKP make my plants flower more?
MKP supplies nutrients that plants need, but adding extra phosphorus and potassium does not guarantee more flowers or fruit. Use it to meet an identified nutrient need, alongside suitable light, watering and growing conditions.
